Vahid Novruzov, Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Congratulated Entrepreneurs on “25 April – Entrepreneurs’ Day”.

Dear Auditors,
Dear Representatives of the Business Community!

Every year, 25 April is celebrated in Azerbaijan as “Entrepreneurs’ Day”. Established by Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, dated 21 April 2016, this day is an important indicator of the high value attached by the state to the development of the private sector, strengthening the country’s economy, ensuring employment and stimulating entrepreneurial initiatives.

This significant day reflects the high appreciation at the state level of the role of entrepreneurs in the development of Azerbaijan’s economy, expansion of the non-oil sector, creation of new jobs, formation of a competitive business environment and strengthening of social welfare. Today, entrepreneurship is not only a sphere of economic activity, but also one of the important pillars of national development, social stability, innovation, the revival of regions and the economic independence of the state.

The political and economic course pursued under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, has defined the key strategic directions of sustainable development, economic diversification, state support for entrepreneurship, expansion of the non-oil sector, improvement of the investment climate, transparent governance and institutional reforms. As a result of this course, entrepreneurs have emerged as one of the leading forces of the national economy and have made significant contributions to the development of production and service sectors, increasing export potential, introducing new technologies, expanding the tax base and ensuring employment.

In the modern system of economic relations, the development of entrepreneurship is not limited to indicators of production, services and investment. This development is also directly linked to transparent governance, proper financial reporting, tax discipline, corporate responsibility, legality, fair competition and reliable audit mechanisms. In this regard, the audit institution serves as an important professional mechanism for ensuring the financial sustainability and accountability of business entities, enhancing their investment attractiveness and reliability in the eyes of banks and investors, as well as strengthening public confidence.

The role of audit is not limited to the examination of financial statements. Modern audit performs an important preventive and analytical function in evaluating internal control systems, identifying risks, enhancing the economic soundness of management decisions, ensuring compliance with legislation and international standards, and preventing corruption, lack of transparency, financial indiscipline and legal risks. In an economy with a strong audit environment, entrepreneurs’ decisions are more well-founded, investor confidence is more sustainable, and the state’s regulatory policy is more effective.

The Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues its activities in line with the key objectives of the political and economic course defined by the Head of State, focusing on transparency, accountability, financial discipline, the integration of business entities into a reliable financial environment and improving the quality of audit services. The activities of the Chamber are aimed at strengthening a healthy business environment in the country, aligning financial reporting with international standards, enhancing the prestige of the auditing profession, preventing cases of unfair competition and strengthening audit as a real mechanism of influence within the economic governance system.

In this regard, the Chamber of Auditors considers it important to deepen an environment of professional trust between entrepreneurs and auditors and to ensure that audit is perceived not merely as a mandatory verification tool, but as a strategic management instrument that contributes to business development, risk reduction, increased access to credit and investment, and financial transparency. For an entrepreneur, a quality audit is not an additional administrative burden, but a mechanism for protecting their business from legal, financial and reputational risks.

The Chamber of Auditors considers it an important task to continue contributing, within the capabilities of the professional audit institution, to the economic reforms carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the development of entrepreneurship, the formation of transparent economic relations, the strengthening of the non-oil sector and the enhancement of the competitiveness of the national economy.

On this significant day, I sincerely congratulate all our entrepreneurs, representatives of the business community, as well as our auditors who provide professional audit, advisory and assurance services to business entities. I wish our entrepreneurs success in their activities, new achievements, sustainable development, broad opportunities for cooperation and effective work for the further strengthening of our national economy.

I am confident that the favorable economic and legal environment created by the state, the initiative of entrepreneurs and the professional support of auditors will continue to make an important contribution to further increasing the economic strength of our country and strengthening a transparent and competitive business environment.

Respectfully,

Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Vahid Novruzov
