A scientific seminar on “The Role of Tax Policy in Economic Diversification” was held jointly by the Training Center of the Tax Service of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Union of Economists, and the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

One of the main directions of the economic policy implemented in Azerbaijan is the development of the non-oil sector based on economic diversification and the strengthening of its export potential.

The State Tax Service reported that, taking into account the relevance of the topic, the Training Center of the Tax Service, jointly with the Azerbaijan Union of Economists and the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a scientific seminar on “The Role of Tax Policy in Economic Diversification”.

Mirali Kazimov, Acting Head of the Training Center, who spoke at the seminar, highlighted the importance of such events.

The seminar was addressed by Ziyad Samadzade, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Union of Economists, Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Full Member of ANAS, Doctor of Economics, Professor; Vahid Novruzov, Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Economics, Professor; Imran Garayev, Head of the Economics and Management Education Department of the Training Center; and Shahzada Madatova, Researcher at the Science, Innovation and Cooperation Department of the Center.

It was noted that economic diversification plays an important role in reducing the country’s dependence on the oil sector and ensuring employment through the development of the non-oil sector and one of its components, industry, while successful tax policy stimulates the economy and creates conditions for its expansion.

Following the event, a working meeting was held between M. Kazimov, Z. Samadzade, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Union of Economists, and V. Novruzov, Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors.

The meeting addressed issues related to organizing joint national and international conferences and scientific events aimed at enhancing the professional capacities of the parties within the framework of cooperation, and a decision was made to further develop mutual relations.
